William "Bill" Edwards

After graduating from Progressive Educational Institute, William became one of the youngest recruits of the Trinidad & Tobago Police Force. After seven years of service he migrated to the USA, where he graduated from Hunter College in NY with an Accounting Degree.

He then pursued his accounting career at the United Nations, where he served for 29 years. During this tenure he was actively involved in the staff union realtors. While in the US, Brooklyn, NY was “his home” and it was from here that his social life flourished. He was President of the Trinidad & Tobago Police Ex-Policeman Association, President of the All Fours Alliance, Pioneers Sports & Cultural Club and member of the “Why Worry” Social Club.

Through activities with these associations, Bill was afforded the opportunity to really let his humanitarian spirit shine as they addressed the social and cultural aspects of the West Indian community through participation in and the development of youth programs.

He then met and married the “love of his life” who joined him in his quest “to see the world.” But he was infected by the “cruising bug” for which there was no remedy and he convinced and encouraged his friends that cruising was the only way to go. He really enjoyed life and everything it offered him.
