

Born in Rahway, NJ, he was a resident of Port St. Lucie since 1998, moving from Fort Myers, FL, where he lived since 1981.
During the Viet Nam War, Bill served in the United States Air force as Buck Sgt.
Mr. Powers worked as a General Contractor. He previously worked for OAK Construction in Ft. Myers, FL; DASCO Co, a construction Co. in West Palm Beach, FL and owned and operated Powers Home Inspection in Port St. Lucie.
Bill was a member of Port St. Lucie Sunset Rotary Club, Treasure Coast Business on the Green, and was an affiliate of the Realtor Assoc of Port St. Lucie, FL. He also served on the United Way Committee in Ft. Myers, FL. In 1996, he carried the Olympic Torch for the Atlanta Olympics in Sarasota, FL. He also spent 15 years as a Pack Leader for the Boy Scouts of America in Ft. Myers, FL.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Powers of Port St. Lucie, FL; two sons, Tech. Sgt. Dallas William Powers and wife, Staff Sgt. Marcella Powers of Dover, DE, Staff Sgt. Bob R. Powers and wife Sr. Airman Elizabeth Powers of Dover, DE; one daughter, Megan Kathleen Powers of Port St. Lucie, FL; two grandchildren, Michael William Powers and Bobby Awesome Powers, both of Dover, DE; two brothers, Robert Powers of Palm Harbor, FL, Thomas Powers of Toms River, NJ; and one sister, Kathy Ruffus of Port Pleasant, NJ.
