Jones. Jerry grew up in Kennebunkport, graduating from Kennebunk High School in 1975. He attended the Baltimore Culinary Institute in Baltimore, MD.
Jerry returned to Kennebunkport where he worked as a chef at the Breakwater Restaurant and Village Cove Inn. He later worked for R.J. Grondin & Sons and the Maine Turnpike Authority before retiring in 2001 due to ill health.
Jerry’s unique love of family, life, and oneness with nature sustained and comforted him over the last fourteen years as he bravely and courageously lived with cancer. Jerry’s positive energy and “get it done” attitude weathered him through this journey. Jerry deeply enjoyed playing the role of fishing guide to family and friends from near and afar. He will be best remembered standing at the end of the breakwater on Gooch’s Beach at sunrise and sunset with his rod and reel in hand waiting for the “Kong” of stripers and checking for the first safe ice of the winter season to return with traps, bait, food, and plenty of children for a fun filled day on the ice with, “Grandpa-Fish”.
He is survived by his loving wife Cindy (Camire) Jones of thirty years. Two daughters, Samantha Nason and her husband Joshua Nason of Kennebunk, ME, Rebecca Jones-Murray and her husband Buck Murray of Lyman, ME, two beloved granddaughters, Karissa Nason and Julianna Nason of Kennebunk, ME. He will be intensely missed by all who knew him and loved him.
