

Lewiston Me- Amelia Cormier died at CMMC in Lewiston Me on 10/05/2021 after a brief illness. She was born on 7/14/1941 to William Folland and Pauline West. She attended Rumford schools and graduated from Stephens High School with the class of 1959. She moved to the Boston area and later Springfield Massachusetts where she worked as a waitress for many years. She later moved back to Maine and continued with waitressing and later hostessing and very much enjoyed working with the public.
She was a regular and active church attender throughout most of her life. She attended Praise Assembly of God Church in Rumford ME, Fellowship Church in Englewood Florida and most recently- Charleston Church in Charleston Maine. She was active with fundraising for Fellowship church which assisted them in opening a debt free state of the art facility in Florida. She was also an active member of her beach club. Four years ago she moved back to Maine to be closer to family as well as a new grandbaby whom was her greatest joy at the end of her life.
She enjoyed many activities including shopping, eating at restaurants, traveling, cooking, jewelry and decorating. She enjoyed socializing with friends and had a large social circle in Florida. She often checked in with friends and family, or those in her community who were struggling and often gave generously. She used her gifts of hospitality to bless others and was often the difference maker in those lives she touched. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son Stephen Thibodeau and his wife Lisa of Saco Maine, Michelle Haynes and her husband Todd of Peru Maine, Lauren Laliberty and her husband Roland of Dixfield Maine. Eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Rachel Auger of Kennebunkport Me, William Folland and his wife Jane of Old Lyme Connecticut, as well as her best friend Annie of Englewood Florida. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Cormier in January of 1991, Robert Folland her brother and Sharon Folland her sister in law, as well as her brother in law Roger Auger.
Her memorial service will be on saturday oct 23rd at 2pm at Praise Assembly of God church 89 Congress st in Rumford Maine and is open to the public.
