Tony was born in Portsmouth, VA on September 23, 1961, a son of Michael & Dorothy (Smith) Spaltro. He grew up in South Portland, attending local area schools and attended South Portland High School.
He was formerly trained as a welder and could fix just about anything. He also enjoyed carpentry and design. Tony belonged to a twelve step program for many years, a program where he found much support and serenity.
Tony loved motorcycles and felt free on the back of a Harley; riding with his fringe leather jacket and cowboy boots. He loved to go fishing with his brothers David and Danny. Tony also enjoyed attending Pow-Wows with Dave and Rose and would immerse himself in the power of Native American spirituality. Tony had a great sense of humor; he loved children, at times more than adults, as well as quiet time alone. He enjoyed the simple things in life and was a very giving man….if he had it, it was yours.
Besides his parents, Tony is survived by his daughter Erika Sturgeon, grandsons Caleb and Ashton, longtime partner Debra Judd, her daughter Angela and her children. He also leaves his brothers David, Daniel and John, his sister Michelle and several nieces and nephews and many good friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 12 noon at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress Street, Portland. A Pot Luck Reception will follow from 2 -4 p.m. at the Sahara Club, 135 Washington Ave. Portland.
