Born on March 25, 1946, Claudia grew up as the oldest of four in a loving and busy household in Auburn, ME. She would go on to graduate from Edward Little High School, before continuing her education at the University of Maine at Farmington. Through a varied career, she would eventually spend 15 years with Geiger Brothers, after which she would go onto another 8 years with Mardens before finally enjoying her retirement in Turner, ME.
Always an active person, you rarely found Claudia “with nothing to do” in her retirement. She was always out for drives with whoever wanted to come along, to some place new to “try out.” Many times, Claudia could be found enjoying her love of Native American culture by joining in at a Pow Wow, or celebrating a birthday with a cookout at her favorite lake, Range Pond. She also kept active at the gym with the support and friendship of her cardiac rehab group. And if you couldn’t find her at these places, you might just find her driving with a friend down to her favorite store, Cabelas.
“Quiet” nights in were spent joking with friends around a hand of cards, enjoying a good meal with family, or reading aloud from under a pig pile of her grandsons. A voracious reader, Claudia could always be found reading the book stashed in her truck, reading in her rocking chair under a purring cat, or reading to any of the little ones of the family. Always on the lookout for a new story to start, she was sure to give someone else the last story she’d enjoyed.
She will be deeply missed by those of us with whom she shared her story. Her siblings, Joanne Charpentier, Lynn Ross, Scott Jordan and his wife Ragena Jordan; her son and his wife, Leigh and Hayley Jordan; her grandchildren, Gabriel, Wyatt, and Elijah Jordan; nieces and nephews, Sara Needham, Travis and Erin Ross, Tyler and Rebecca Ross, Jessica Jordan, and Jeremy Jordan; her cousins, many grandnieces and nephews, and too many to count that loved her.
