

Daniel Nezol was born into a prominent local family, he was the son of Stanley S. Nezol Sr. and Emma E. Nezol. He grew up on the family land alongside his brother, Stanley S. Nezol Jr. Daniel’s family ties remained central to his life and ran into his later years, preserving his estate and agricultural legacy for his surviving family, to continue his family legacy. Daniel was a passionate conservationist at heart, managing and protecting a significant 115-acre estate in Lisbon and a 93 acer estate in Durham of Androscoggin County. His greatest pride was the preservation of the land's historic features. He kept the vast acreage pristine, ensuring the fields and woodlands remained a reflection of Maine's traditional agricultural landscape.
A natural craftsman with an innate understanding of machinery, Daniel operated Ridge Equipment, a specialized farm equipment repair business located right on the property. Local farmers and neighbors trusted him implicitly with their tractors and implements, knowing Daniel possessed the rare grit and expertise to fix what others couldn’t. His business operated alongside Nezol Farms, the historic family farm where Daniel spent his life. He took immense pride in keeping the farm active, managing the landscape, and honoring the generational labor that established it.
Daniel was an active member in serving his community holding a presence through civic leadership and community services. Daniel served on the Town of Lisbon Planning Board for multiple terms extending through 2017. He was actively involved in local infrastructure development, including exploring and planning a municipal standpipe on the ridge behind Upland. In this role, he helped shape the growth and development of the town he called home, earning a reputation for his practical approach, integrity, and dedication to municipal oversight. His civic involvement reflected a deep-seated commitment to preserving the character and future of his hometown. He was also very active in town council meetings, working with local non-profits like the local food pantry. Daniel was very political engaged, his civic involvement in Maine dates back decades. State legislative records show he ran as a write-in candidate for the Maine State Senate (District 14) in 1974.
