Scarborough - Darlene Lake, 70, of Old Orchard Beach and San Marcos a la Luna Soloala, Guatemala, daughter of Donald and Jane Lake, graduate of Old Orchard Beach High School, died Sunday, August 26, 2012.
She was a lover of life and all things beautiful, a passionate voice and champion of horses and dogs. She was founder and director of The Retreat located on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, a community of small thatched villas where she resided for 15 years, and the author of "Woman on the Run".
A private celebration of life will be held in the future.
