Raised in Lowell, Massachusetts, David was the son of William and Catherine Walker. He is predeceased by his sister, Catherine, and is survived by his brother, George, who continues to reside in Lowell. He also leaves behind his cherished nephew, Joseph, who lives in Boscawen, New Hampshire, with his family.
David earned his bachelor's degree from Fitchburg State College and later obtained a master's degree from Anna Maria College. He dedicated his career to education, beginning with several years of teaching in the Canal Zone in Panama. He then returned to Massachusetts, where he taught special education in Worcester before becoming an administrator in the same field. David retired in 2000, leaving a legacy of compassion and commitment that profoundly impacted the lives of his students.
David cherished summers at their home in Ogunquit, where he and Alfred created lasting memories filled with joy, laughter, and the love of family and friends. After retirement, they settled in Scarborough, Maine, where David enjoyed Pilates, yoga, and workouts at the Portland YMCA, as well as the beautiful beaches of Scarborough and Old Orchard.
A passionate traveler, David spent many vacations in the warm Caribbean islands, eagerly anticipating the winter and spring breaks that allowed him to unwind on palm tree-lined beaches.
David will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the positive influence he had on countless lives.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
