He was born on June 6, 1942 the only child of the late Edward M. and Hazel (Miller) Caron, Sr. in Montreal, Canada; Ed and his family moved to South Portland when he was 6 yrs old where he attended school and graduated from South Portland High School in 1961.
After graduation Ed moved his young family to Lincoln, ME, working for Lincoln Pulp and Paper for a few years before moving to Gorham, ME, where he became a Firefighter with the South Portland Fire Department up until his injury forced him to retire.
Edward is survived by his wife, Beverly Caron of Cape Elizabeth, his son Scott E. Caron and his wife Joanne of Lewiston, daughter Denise Manchester of Standish, step daughter Debbie and husband Greg Turner of Scarborough, stepson Paul Frederick of Cape Elizabeth. Grandchildren Brandon and Benjamin Caron, Scottie Manchester and Amanda Manchester, step grandchildren Katie Maike, Allison Theiss, Erica Morin, Megan, Tyler and Travis Turner along with their families and many great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He also leaves his brother-in-law Charles (Scuppy) Olsen and wife Patricia of Cape Elizabeth, ME
Ed was also the step father of the late Michael Frederick.
