Eileen was born in Brookville, PA in 1919, the daughter of the late Clyde and Ima Knisely. She graduated from Brookville High School.
Before moving to Maine in 1984, Eileen lived in Florida where she was employed by the US Postal Service. She served as a supervisor and as Postmaster at the Post Offices in Hobe Sound and Estero, FL.
Eileen enjoyed doing art work, both painting and wood carving. Always interested in wildlife, she made sure the squirrels, chipmunks and chickadees were well fed in the winter; she also knew the names of most of the trees in the forest.
Eileen is survived by her brother, Dean Knisley and her son Robert Mognet and his wife Judith of West Palm Beach, FL; she also leaves four grandchildren, Christopher Spaulding of Windham, Virgina Sapulding of Raymond, Daryl Maclaren of Los Feliz, CA and Isaac and Sunita Mognet of Los Angeles, CA, as well as six great grandchildren, Ethan Courtney, Emma, Casey, Payson and Jimmy.
She will be missed by all.
