Passed away unexpectedly August 13 at Central Maine Medical Center
Born in Waterville ME Sept 1943 to parents Harold and Mary (Shank) Duquette
Raised in Waterville and graduated from Waterville High School after which he entered the U S Air Force where he served for 8 years.
After the military he worked at various jobs in Maine before he moved to Boston where he worked as a bartender and bartending instructor for several years.
After returning to Maine he opened Movieland, a video rental business in Lisbon Falls with his partner Steve Cowan where he worked until 2007 when they sold the business and he went into semi - retirement and worked several part time jobs, the most recent as a cashier at Hannaford in Topsham until the onset of Covid in early 2020.
Survived by his husband of 8 years, Clyde Bruce of Lisbon; 2 granddaughters Erica Cowan of Pittsfield and Amanda Booker and her husband Rick of Waterville and their children Brianna, Paige, Olivia, Bailey, Braden and Chase.
Also surviving him are his sisters Barbara Pelotte and her husband Ray of Sydney, Linda Harwood and her husband Mike of Fairfield, and Geraldine ( Gerry ) Paige of Waterville, and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his daughter, Debra Duquette of Waterville who passed away in 2019,and four sisters: Dianne ( Bunny ) Corriveau of Port Charotte, Florida, Gabrielle ( Gubbie ) Jackson of Worcester Mass., Judy Leclair of Winslow, and Brenda Weber of Sidney.
Kit will be sadly missed but happily and lovingly remembered by his family and the many friends he made through all the facets of his life.
There will be a celebration of Kits' life at a later date.
