

He was born in Rumford, ME on September 27, 1954 a son of the late William “Bill” A. and Theresa M. (Arsenault) LaPlant Jr. He graduated from Dirigo High School in Dixfield, ME.
Greg’s first job was at Stowell MacGregor’s Sawmill stacking squares he was fired from there for taking time off to go to Woodstock. After he graduated he started construction driving truck for the teamsters, from there he worked in the woods of Maine in Stratton.
Then he started his thirty five plus years career as an Ironworker/Rigger at the Rumford Paper Mill, he went down to Florida in 1979 to work then Kentucky and in damn near every state building America!
He loved being up to camp fishing and just spending time there that was his happy place. He would spend his time hunting, hiking, and snowmobiling, living life to the absolute fullest! Greg loved to laugh and cut up with everyone and enjoyed spending times with sons Cody & Chanze.
Greg had too many friends all across the country to list but he loved every one of them!
He is survived by his son Cody LaPlant, his brother, Mike LaPlant, as well as his nephew Keith Gagnon and nieces Kathleen Brady LaPlant, Michelle Kennedy and other family.
He also leaves behind his good friends Nick Jarvis, Paul Robbins, Jersey, Megan Worthley, Rocky Manzer, Antonio Gagnon and Dallas Lovelace
A celebration of life and scattering of his ashes will occur in July up at camp, please contact Cody his son for more information.
