OBITUARY

James Robert Trott

September 9, 1944November 11, 2019

Scarborough, ME - James “Jimmy” and Marion Trott passed away together on November 11, 2019 at the Gosnell House in Scarborough. Jimmy passed away suddenly from progressing metastatic cancer. Marion passed away from aortic stenosis. Jimmy and Marion were married for over 50 years and were the definition of a true love story. Their passings, only a few hours apart, left them without the void of living without each other.

Jimmy was born in Portland, Maine. He grew up in a large family, which fueled his desire to become a father. When he met Marion, he loved not only her, but her six children unconditionally. They were later blessed with a daughter of their own, Cheryl. Anyone who knows Jimmy knows of his love for all things Elvis and Christmas. The Elvis Gospel album played during their final moments together. He was predeceased by his mother and father Louise and Thomas Trott, and his brother Frederick. He is survived by his brothers: Waldo, Thomas, Louis and Wife Claire, John, and sisters: Mary Howell, Louise Rickett, Katherine Trask, and Barbara Rogers.

Marion was born in Phillips, Maine. She was a homemaker whose main goal was to care for her family. She was always willing to lend a hand and take in various members of the family in times of need, including multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marion was predeceased by her mother and father: Clifford and Ruby Stuard, siblings Christine, Albert, Alvin, and Charles, son Robert Burbank Jr., and son-in-law, Gaston Seeley.

Jimmy and Marion are survived by their 6 children. Linda Seeley, Debra and husband Andrew Cameron, Donna and husband Donald Walsh, Mary and husband Robert DiDonato, Joan Burbank and Bruce Lombard, and Cheryl Trott, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Gosnell House for giving Marion and Jimmy their happily ever after in their own “honeymoon suite”.

Services will be held at Calvary Cemetery (New Section), 1461 Broadway in South Portland at 1:00 pm, followed by a celebration of life at the Moose Lodge-1310 at 19 Spring Street in Scarborough, ME.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gosnell Hospice Center 11 Hunnewell Drive, Scarborough, ME 04074.

Jimmy & Marion it's been about two weeks since you guys left all of us.
I know that Adrienne, Mary and I and the rest of your family thinks about you guys
everyday. I was listening to Elvis on the radio today and I was thinking about you guys.
Just thinking what Christmas is going to be like this year with out you guys.
Oh one more thing that I want to say if you see Jasper tell him that I still miss him.
Camp wasn't the same with out him. Jasper would go crazy when we would pull up
to your house and you came outside.

Grampy... what am I supposed to say? What am I supposed to say that others haven’t? You are/were an amazing man. You always protected us when we’re little kids. You many many times did you comfort me when I was upset. We’d pick cherry tomatoes out of your garden, you’d show me all kinds of bugs (even though I didn’t like them) and tell me about them. Every Christmas Eve you’d dress up as Santa for me and my brother and sisters. I remember us kids would be sitting on the floor or talking with nana when you’d come out of your room all dressed as Santa with that super jolly laugh and give us all hugs, you always messed around and asked if us girls were “good boys” and if mason was a “good girl” that year. It saddens me to think about how my last Christmas with you guys was 4 years ago 😔 my heart is heavy with sadness and love for you. I wish you got to meet my babies (your great-great-grandchildren) you would have absolutely loved them.

Forever and always Grampy
