Scarborough, ME - Kathleen M. Poole, a resident of Portland for the past 21 years, died on May 1st, 2013, due to complications from advanced kidney disease. Born in Kentucky on October 20, 1942, Kathy was one of five children of Henry A. Moore and Geneva Smither Moore, both since deceased.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Susan Poole of Bridgton, and two grand children, Derek J. H. Alvino and Khloe Sage Doran, both of Bridgton. She is also survived by an older brother, William Moore, a younger brother, Phillip Moore, and a younger sister, Susan Nutt, all of the Louisville area. She also leaves many in-laws, nieces and nephews both in Kentucky and New Jersey. She was previously deceased last year by her identical twin sister, Geraldine Moore Vance, of Louisville.
Known for her razor sharp wit and beautiful smile, Kathy was a true southern belle. Prior to her retirement two years ago, she sold ladies clothing for more than 20 years at R. H. Macy’s in South Portland. She made all her customers feel right at home with her sense of style, southern hospitality and charm.
Kathy’s greatest joy in life was spending quality time with her daughter and grandchildren. She will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved her.
