

Kittery, ME - Kenneth "Ken" Gerald Gray, age 59, passed away peacefully at his home in Kittery on July 25, 2018. Ken attended school at Traip Academy in Kittery, graduating high school from Daycroft School in Greenwich, CT in 1977. He completed his bachelor’s degree in both English and Education from The Principia College in Elsah, IL in 1982.
Ken was a substitute teacher at Traip Academy in the 1980’s, and left New England for California where he was a quality control specialist for Koo Koo Roo, a West Coast restaurant chain for several years. He returned to the seacoast in 1999 to assist his father, and has resided in Kittery for the remainder of his life.
Ken loved reading, and was also an avid cribbage, backgammon, and scrabble player. He was a passionate sports fan, following the Boston Celtics, the Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots. Ken also excelled in playing basketball, football, baseball, and running track in his school years. He will long be remembered by his family and friends for his uncanny memory and ability to recall past facts and events.
Ken is predeceased by his mother Marjorie C. Gray (1999), and father Henry W. Gray (2018) of Kittery. He is survived by two brothers, Warren (Sandra) Gray of York, ME, and Ronald (Christine) Gray of Natick, MA, one sister, Cheryl (Gray) Scroggins (Joel Scroggins) of Jacksonville, FL, one niece, Jessica Gray of Palm Bay, FL, and one nephew, James Gray of York, ME. He is also survived by two aunts, Marilyn Campbell of Marlborough, MA, Margaret Geary of Chelmsford, MA, and cousins Christine Sweeney, and Suzanne Lawlor.
A private service will be celebrated by immediate family, and no public service is planned.
