

She was born in Houlton, ME on October 23, 1939, a daughter of the late Hazen Sr. & Edrie Eldora (Richards) MacDonald. She grew up in Marsadis, ME, attending local area schools an attended Lee Academy.
She worked as a unit assistant for Mercy Hospital for many years and then went to work for the Barron Center before retiring.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Susan Cook of Portland, her two grandchildren Shamika and Adam and three great grandchildren Treyvonnte, Damaris and Samaura. She also leaves three sisters Sandra Lee Gudino and her husband Juan of San Jose, CA, Ursula Greenlaw and her husband Larry of Oakfield, ME and Rose James and her husband Steven, as well as four brothers Austin Shannon and his wife Carol of Canada, Hazen Shannon Jr. of Missouri, Gerald Shannon of Texas and Norman Ginish and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Byron Shannon, Geraldine Shannon and Lowell Morton.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Beacon Hospice, especially Marlene’s C.N.A. Michelle and Home Health Care Solutions, especially Sadia for their care and support during these difficult times.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life/Party on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 1 pm at 10 Congress Square Plaza in the community room on the 6th floor. To enter, please dial apt # 304 and you will be let in.
Burial in Oakfield Cemetery, Oakfield, ME will be held at a later date.
