May grew up surrounded by the love of her grandparents. She attended Beauty School and worked for many years as a beloved Hairdresser. She had a passion for writing, which in her later years she used to start an advertising booklet called “Check out” helping to support and grow local businesses.
She was best known for her love of animals and was considered to be the “Mother” to several Maine Coon cats and a dog named “Happy”. Her most recent Maine Coon cat was named “Duthema” and the two were inseparable.
May’s quick wit, honesty, and loyalty will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Donations can be made in her honor to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland and The Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
