Michael grew up in Turner and graduated from Leavitt Area High School in 1987. He went on to build a career in construction, where his hard work and good humor earned him the respect of all who knew him.
He raised two beloved daughters, Lilah Lara and Ava Gagnon. Michael was a devoted father whose greatest joy was spending time with his girls and, more recently, his grandson, Luca Lara.
He is survived by his mother, Rita Gagnon; daughters, Lilah Lara (Jacob Lara) and Ava Gagnon; grandson, Luca Lara; sister, Ann Campbell; and brother, David Gagnon (Debbie Gagnon) He was predeceased by his father, Claude Gagnon.
Michael will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and infectious smile. He loved fishing, cooking, gardening, and game nights with friends—but most of all, he cherished time with family. He had a gift for uplifting others, always ready with a helping hand or a kind word.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers we ask that you take a moment to hug your child, grandchild, friend, or walk in the woods for a moment, an hour or a day. Time waits for no one.
A beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend—Michael’s light will live on in all who knew and loved him.
