Mitchell Stimson, longtime resident of Peak’s Island passed away on Saturday February 26, 2022 at Maine Medical Center. Mitchell was born in Boston in 1963. He spent much of his childhood in Northern Virginia and attended St. John’s High School in Washington, D.C. Mitchell worked for several years as a groundskeeper at Maine Medical Center while attending the University of Southern Maine. He graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. After graduation, Mitchell worked for two years for the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination before returning to Maine. Mitchell lived in Maine working odds jobs while living with a substantial disability for most of his adult years. He is survived by his sister Marilyn of Attleboro, MA, his brother Glen of Scarborough, ME and his brother Sean of Northern Virginia. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
