Rose is predeceased by her brother Scott Thurston and Granddaughter Lorelai Veinott.
She leaves behind her son, Mathew Veinott, his wife Camille, and Grandchildren Kamryn and Wesley Veinott. Surviving family includes her mother Helen Fairbrother; sisters Grace Mortimer and Iris George; brothers Steven Mortimer, Stanley Mortimer, Scott Thurston, and Ray Thurston; many nieces and nephews.
Rose loved working outside, helping make many yard projects come to life for her son. The only thing she enjoyed more than giving a helping hand outside was to spend time with her grandchildren. She loved watching them play and grow, and was always ready to receive pictures of their milestones or adventures. She was a caring and loving Meemaw to her sons babies and fur babies as well. Spoiling the fur kids with treats was one of her favorite things to try to sneak past her son.
As a mom with a very big heart, she could never keep a grudge for long and tried to instill that forgiving and forgetting "is the godly thing to do" onto her family. Raising her son as a single mother, she always made sure her son had every opportunity possible. Their favorite pastime as mother and son was going to the ocean every weekend, during his childhood. If the sun was out, so were they, enjoying the outdoors.
She will be deeply missed by those who knew her, but never forgotten because of all the wonderful memories she made with her family and friends
