

Stanley Bruce Fossett died May 15, 2021 in Scarborough, Maine. He was born in Damariscotta, Maine on July 15, 1948, the son of Barbara Alice Melville and Stanley Byron Fossett. Both his mother's family, the Joneses and his father's family, the Fossetts, were settled in the area before the American Revolution.
Bruce graduated from Falmouth High School in Falmouth, Maine and went on to graduate from Northeastern University in Boston where he was active in the student protest movement of the late sixties. He spent his work-study semesters working for a British insurance company in London. He went on to receive a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University in Boston. He practiced law for a few years and worked for the Nissen Baking Company.
When he retired in 2004 he moved to Bath, Maine and pursued his hobbies, photography, British history, and international travel.
Bruce is survived by his sister, Susan M. Chapman of Falmouth, Maine, a half sister and several cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Church of Saint Mary the Virgin, 43 Foreside Road, Falmouth in the Father James Chapel at 11 am on Monday, August 9th.
