He was born on July 12, 1939 in South Berwick, Maine a son of the late Arnold Henry and Joyce M (Price) Bergier. He graduated from Alton Central High School in New Hampshire, and following high school entered the Air Force and served 4 years and 2 years in the reserves. Tom earned an undergraduate degree in French and a Masters Degree in German from the University of New Hampshire.
He taught French and German at Nasson College for several years, high school French at Fryeburg Academy, and later in life went into the import export business. Once retired, he returned to his passion, playing the guitar professionally.
Tom enjoyed gardening, singing in his church choir, playing his guitar at retirement communities, international travel and most of all spending time with his beloved family.
He is survived by his Son, Christopher Bergier and his wife Rosy of Massachusetts and his Daughter, Tanja Bergier of Maryland and her Fiance’, Anthony Harris Sr. He also leaves his grandchildren, Breanna Hunter, Anthony Thomas Jr, Celina Thomas, Valenia Bergier, Yariana Bergier, Liam Bergier and one great grandchild, AJ Brooks as well as his sisters, Wendy Ashley of Portland Maine and Barbara Bergier of New York, New York, Nephew Edmund Ashley & his wife Maret of Portland Maine, Nephew Pedar Ashley and Niece Susan both of Portland Maine, several great nieces and great nephews and longtime childhood friend Joan white of Portland Maine. Tom also leaves behind his first wife and the mother of his children, Merrilyn Bergier and his second wife Mary Ellen LaRoche.
He was also the brother of the late Susan Bergier who passed away in 2007
