

Tom was born in Portland, ME on April 19, 1956 a son of the late Elmer R. and Esther M. (Barton) Dyer.
Tom held several different jobs over his life, however being a cook was the one he did best and enjoyed the most. He worked for several locations most recently Sportsman’s Restaurant in Portland.
He was a true outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, cooking on an open fire and camping up in Baxter during the summers. He was also an avid roller skater spending lots of time at Happy Wheels on Warren Ave. Tom was also a huge NASCAR fan, having taken over a storage unit with memorabilia.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Casco Bay and Hospice for all their care and support.
Besides his wife Sue, he is survived by two brothers Danny and Bob Dyer, his son Shane Grant and his companion Leiese Thibeault, his daughter Nicole Oaks and her husband Tim, Stepson Mark Carpenter and Stepdaughter Tami Carpenter. Four grandchildren Brianna Rawding, Kodey Reynolds, Cheyanne Oaks and Tyler Oaks. He also leaves three nieces Jory, Kegan, Kristi and a nephew Robert, and special friends John Zacaris and Matthew Hodgdon, as well as many other friends.
A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 from 7 -9 p.m. at Happy Wheels, 331 Warren Ave. Portland.
