Alexander was born to Lola Gray Kemp and Alexander Murdock Lewis on August 28, 1958. A native of Raleigh, he attended Enloe High School in Raleigh and University of North Carolina, Wilmington. Throughout his life he worked in various home improvement and construction professions, and specialized as a stained glass artisan and glass restoration.
Alexander was particularly fond of the North Carolina coast. He had a love of fishing and grilling out. He was an avid fan of the Carolina Tarheels, and greatly enjoyed music, reading and video games. He had an amazing knack for remembering dates. He loved spending time with family and friends- especially all the moments spent with his Grandson.
Alexander is survived by his wife of 38 years, Doris Watkins Lewis; his father, Alexander Murdock Lewis (Julie); daughter, Kathryn Lee Lewis Glover; grandson, Colton Alexander Glover; Brother, Steven Lewis; nieces, Sarah and Ally Lewis; and cousins, John Lee Guthrie, Sandra Scally and David Simmons. He is predeceased by his mother, Lola who passed in 1990.
