Having been born in Manhattan, New York, to her mother, Yan Tai Man Wong (predeceased) and father, Wing Yui Wong, Amy eventually relocated to South Florida where she met her husband of 19 years, Paul Monge, and gave birth to their two children, Emily Monge (16), and Michael Monge (10). In addition to her immediate family, Amy leaves behind three siblings: Alice Meyers of Raleigh, NC; Lily Murray of Miami, FL; and Peter Wong of Phoenix, AZ. In addition, Amy leaves behind her nieces Olivia, Grace, Rebecca, and Elizabeth, and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles from around the globe including New York, Arizona, Florida, California, Hong Kong, and Scotland, who she loved dearly.
Amy was a devoted wife and mother who loved to bake and spend time with family. Her eyes would light up when she delivered a batch of her homemade baked goods that rivaled even a professional baker and she made birthday parties extra special by paying attention to the smallest details. She was selfless and prioritized others’ thoughts and feelings ahead of her own because her goal was to make everyone happy.
Along with her gentle, kind smile, Amy was a strong and stable force within our family, and was always there to lend support. Her greatest treasure in life was spending time with her family. She enjoyed simple pleasures like spending time at the beach with her family. And, until her passing, Amy worked at Merrill Lynch Financial Services where she earned the love and respect of colleagues and clients who have been extremely compassionate and supportive of her and her family during her illness.
Goodbye, our angel.
May you rest in peace.
A celebration of life for Amy will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.
