Angela America Garcia, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her faithful family on January 2, 2020, in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the age of 93. Angela is survived by her loving children: Ramona Pena, Olga Garcia, Sonia Pichardo, Alba Fernandez, Nieves Garcia, Francia Espinoza, Mario Garcia, Fatima Alonso, Belkis Diaz, Angela Abreu and Tomas Garcia. She is also survived by 41 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Angela was born on May 31, 1926, in Pina Quemado, Dominican Republic, the daughter of Eliceo Pichardo and Rosa Maria Lopez. She married her husband, Carlos Garcia, on March 28, 1949.They were elementary school teachers and together raised their children.

After having already retired as a teacher, in 1980, Angela set out achieve the American Dream, moving to Miami, Florida with the aspiration of helping her children and future generations obtain better opportunities. With her saved earnings and tremendous will power, Angela was able to petition for her children who all have since immigrated to the United States and thrived. The family has since set roots in New York, North Carolina and New Jersey.

Doña America, su sonrisa es inolvidable. Su alegría siempre era contagiosa. Es admirable el servicio que ud brindo a la sociedad y a la Iglesia. Ese amor que ud brindaba a todo el que conocía es inigualable y con ese amor que le hablaba a sus hijos, nietos, y biznietos me sorprendía y alegraba porque lo hacía con una sonrisa o con una palabra de amor. Quisiéramos tenerla con nosotros y disfrutar de esa sabiduría, pero Dios siempre se sirve de lo mejor. La recordaremos Siempre . Descanse en Paz
