Ann was born in Binghamton, NY, to Richard Pavlovic and Cecilia Ann Ambra Pavlovic. Ann lived in Binghamton, NY, until she was 6, when her family moved to Raleigh, NC. Ann excelled in school and graduated from Hale High School as Salutatorian. She attended N.C. State University and majored in Forestry. Ann had many passions in life. She carried her environmental knowledge with her while living on a sustainable tree farm in Wake Forest. Ann also enjoyed working on cars and still had the first car she ever bought, a ‘69 Camaro Rally Sport. Most importantly, Ann loved people and thrived in the hospitality industry, working for the Holiday Inn. After meeting and marrying her husband, Guy, Ann enjoyed entertaining friends and guests at their home and at the supper/jazz club, Cappers. Ann empowered young women through the Girl Scouts of America. She achieved her own Gold Award before becoming a troop leader for her daughter. Ann never knew a stranger, whether human or animal. Ann adored her rescue dogs almost as much as she adored her daughter, family, friends, and Polish heritage.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Ashley Ann Branaman; her brother, Joseph Pavlovic; her sister-in-law, Cheryl Pavlovic; the Nagy family; the Mentzer family; the Abramowicz family; the Kahdy family; Beverly Branaman; and Lorraine Johnson. Along with friends Amy Carden, Deanna Kilgore, Annette Rodgers, Pattie Pittman, Lynne Hebble, Jean Skinner, and Garnet Bass, among many others.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 10th, 2026, at 11am at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church in Raleigh. The family will receive friends at the church from 10am to 11am before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Watauga Humane Society, at 312 Paws Way, Boone, NC, 28607.
