

Ann Cornwell Pregnall, 94, died of heart disease on Saturday, June 7, 2014. She was born January 11, 1920, in Atlanta, GA, daughter of Pliny Fielder Cornwell and Leonora Salter Cornwell. She was a graduate of Girls High School in Atlanta, GA (1937) and the University of Georgia, Athens (1941). While at University of Georgia she was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She began her career at Graybar Electric Company, Atlanta, GA. She was later employed by the U.S. Army Air Force in Panama during WWII where she met her husband of 51 years, Robert Richardson Pregnall, Jr. (Bob) who preceded her in death, December 1996. After raising three daughters, she returned to college and completed a second degree in Elementary Education. She taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade in both public and private schools. She retired from teaching at St. Andrews Episcopal Church School in Jacksonville, FL where she and Bob were active church members. She was an active resident of Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community, Raleigh, NC and a long time member of The Church of the Nativity, Ray Rd., Raleigh, NC. She was an avid bridge player, reader, and loved spending time with family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Ann Pregnall Lamb of Raleigh, NC, Marcia Pregnall Farrar and husband David J. Farrar of Moraga, CA, and Laine Pregnall Cuthrell of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Elaine Lamb Cudnik and husband Ryan Cudnik of Reno, NV; James Christian Lamb, V and wife Chelsea Lamb of Jackson, MS; Scott Farrar of Oakland, CA; Katie Farrar of Washington, DC, and Taylor Cuthrell of Raleigh, NC. A memorial service in celebration of her life was held on Friday, June 13, at Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community, Raleigh, NC. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA.
