On January 8, 2021 Arthur Gary Honeycutt went home to God. His passing was due to COVID-19. Gary was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on July 18, 1933 to the late Baxter and Chatta Honeycutt. He graduated from Millbrook High School and served in the US Army. He later attended UNC-Chapel Hill and Kings Business College. He worked as an auditor for the NC Milk Commission and retired after 33 years.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Gayle Ludwick (Terry); stepdaughter Wanda Shackleford (Charlie); daughter-in-law Elaine Judge (Tom); brother-in-law Bill Daniels; grandchildren Chris Hancock, Crystal Shackleford, Colby Baldwin, Lindsey Joyner, Catie Ludwick, Emily Judge; three great-grandchildren, Julieana Ludwick, Janay Harding, Regan Hancock, and nieces Wanda, Barbara, Beth, Brenda, Sandra, Renee and nephews Jimmy, Steve, and David.

He is predeceased by his wife, Cynthia Taylor Honeycutt; infant daughter, Janet; daughter, Annette Clay; son, Jeff Honeycutt; stepsons Bill and Wayne Judge; brother, Marcus Honeycutt; sister, Pat Bailey; sister Ruth Daniels; son-in-law John Clay; grandson Jason Ireland and wife April; and three great-grandchildren Jason, Bryson, and Caroline Ireland.

Gary was a long time member of Millbrook Baptist Church and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family. He was an enthusiastic NC State and Atlanta Braves baseball fan. He enjoyed reading, spending time with family and looked forward to yearly family reunions at White Lake. He enjoyed all these activities until COVID-19 changed the way he lived.

His faith in God was strong and gave him much comfort. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”- 2 Timothy 4:7. “Happy are those who live in your house, ever singing your praise”- Psalm 84:4. Gary is now singing in God’s choir.

A graveside service will be held at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, 7500 ACC Boulevard, Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Millbrook Baptist Church-General Fund, 1519 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, North Carolina 27609 are much appreciated.
