

Betty A. Moser, 88, passed away peacefully and was surrounded by her immediate family early Wednesday morning, July 13, 2022. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and inspirational friend to those that loved her. She was born in Rockingham, N.C. on March 22, 1934, the oldest of five siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel T. Atkinson and Mabel Lewis Atkinson, and sister Vickie Atkinson Rich. She is survived by her loving husband Richard Moser, daughter Donna Moser Chandler and husband Kennett Chandler, son Mike Moser and wife Nancy Moser, sisters Shirley Atkinson, Peggy Lawson, brothers Danny Atkinson and John Atkinson, grandson Alex Chandler, and granddaughters Lauren Chandler and Beth Moser.
Betty attended Hanes High School in Winston-Salem, N.C, she was a graduate of the N.C. Realtors Institute in Chapel Hill, N.C., and was a Certified Real Estate Broker for over 45 years.
She was a successful owner of two real estate companies and worked for several real estate companies in Winston-Salem, N.C., Siler City, N.C., Washington, N.C., and Raleigh, N.C.
She was a past president and director of the Raleigh Board of Realtors, a past secretary and director of the N.C. Real Estate Education Foundation, a past director of the North Carolina Association of Realtors, a past associate dean for the N.C. Realtors Institute and a former Realtor of the Year. She contributed to her community by being a former executive director of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, a former docent of the N.C Museum of Art and served on numerous other boards and committees including the Raleigh Economic Development Task Force, Home Builders Association of Raleigh and Wake County, United Way Campaign of Wake County, and the Home Builders Affordable Housing Committee.
In addition to being dedicated to the real estate profession and the community, Betty loved to take pictures and to be in pictures with family. She doted over her family and always wanted to share her love and affection for them. She was also generous in giving her advice to them. Those who knew Betty loved her greatly.
Visitation will be held at 12:00pm with a memorial service beginning at 1:00pm on Monday, July 18, 2022, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home located at 1701 E. Millbrook Road followed by a graveside service at Raleigh Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 4921 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, N.C. 27609.
