Betty Ann Wall Mountcastle

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Vernon Bass Mountcastle, Jr., Betty’s parents, Samuel Turner Wall, and Carrie Pickett Wall, Mother in law, Carolyn Devoy Mountcastle, and father in law, Vernon Bass Mountcastle. Betty is survived by her 5 sons, Richard Mountcastle (Mandy), Steven W. Mountcastle (Danette), Vernon (Tripp) B. Mountcastle, Peter D. Mountcastle (Mark), David M. Mountcastle, grandchildren, Nicholas Mountcastle, Marley Mountcastle, Sally Mountcastle, Sister in law, Mary Mountcastle Fields, Brother in law, Richard D. Mountcastle (Christiane), Nieces and nephew, Susan, Patricia and Michael.

Betty was a graduate of Converse College. After raising 5 sons, Betty went to work in real estate, then regional manager of Doncaster Clothing.

After retiring, Betty turned her focus to the many things she loved; her grandchildren, time at her home at Atlantic Beach, watercolor painting and bridge with the ladies at Springmoor Retirement Center.

Funeral Services to be Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E Millbrook Rd, Raleigh at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances may be made to the Breast Cancer Society or Hospice (Transitions) of Raleigh, NC. The family would also like to express their deepest appreciation to the care givers who helped Betty through the last several months.
