On the morning of June 13th, 2014, Bobby Christopher Crowson went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at home after unforeseen complications from surgery on Thursday. He was born in Denver, CO on June 26, 1985. He is forever memorialized in the hearts of his father and mother Dan and Brenna Crowson, his sister Chelsea, his grandfather Jim Gentry, many aunts, uncles and cousins, and his sweet companion pup, Dakota.
Chris is fondly revered as a goofy teddy bear with a heart of gold. He brought an abundance of joy to all who knew him and loved him. He loved almost every sport, but his true passion was the Denver Broncos, a handed down tradition for three generations. He played football, soccer and baseball, and was a catcher for the Millbrook High School Varsity Baseball team. He was a devout lover of music, playing a variety of instruments but found an incredible talent in percussion. He was a part of many ensembles and played snare for the Millbrook High School drum line. He took his flair for music to Cullowhee, NC where he attended Western Carolina University and made many great friendships.
With his contagious smile and laughter he shared his loving spirit, touching the lives of so many. We are blessed to have been a part of his short life and are grateful that he is now in eternal paradise, joined by Bob “Papa" and Virginia “Granny” Crowson, his beloved Grandmother Phyllis Gentry and his Aunt Karen, whom he once brought to show and tell as his "favorite person."
During Chris’s amazing life he gave selflessly. In high school, he joined his youth group at Grace Community Church to go to Mexico and build houses for those in need. We ask that in lieu of flowers, you join us in continuing Chris’s generosity by making donations to Grace Community Church with Chris Crowson Memorial Fund in the memo.
On Tuesday, June 17th from 6-8pm, please come to Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on Millbrook Road for a Reception Of Friends and Family. In honor of Chris’ love for the Denver Broncos, the dress is casual and you’re encouraged to wear your most favorite professional football team jersey or team colors as long as it’s not the Seattle Seahawks (yea, we’re sore losers…). Light appetizers will be served and if you have a funny “Chris” story or picture you’d like to share, there will be an opportunity to do so.
The next day, Wednesday, June 18th, we’ll have a Celebration of Life Service at Journey Church beginning at 4:00pm. The addresses for both venues are included in this website. We thank you for your love and prayers and look forward to fellowshipping with you this week.
