Brian Edward Raynor

Brian grew up near Fayetteville, North Carolina, where he was known early on for his athletic ability and love of sports. He played baseball and wrestled, carrying a strong competitive spirit into much of his life. He was also active in his youth at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, where his faith and sense of community were an important part of his upbringing. Brian went on to graduate from NC State University and built a successful career at GSK, where he valued his colleagues, his team, and a boss who became both a mentor and a friend.

Above all else, Brian’s life centered on his family. He and his wife, Kristin Raynor, shared more than 11 years together and were married for 8. Together they built a blended family that meant everything to him: Ashlyn, 19; Isaac, 18; Alyssa, 17; and Lucas, 15. Being their dad was the role he cherished most.

Brian believed deeply in his children and consistently encouraged them to reach their full potential. He saw their intelligence, strengths, and individuality clearly, and he made sure they knew it. He was quick to share their accomplishments with anyone who would listen, always proud of who they were becoming.

He was a devoted husband, a loyal friend, and someone who showed up for others without hesitation. Brian was thoughtful, upbeat and generous with his time and attention. He loved adventure and especially valued time spent with his family. Listening to and going to see comedians was something that Brian & Kristin especially loved to do together. He also had a playful side, known for his pranks and his steady stream of dad jokes that often earned more eye rolls than laughter—but were delivered with perfect timing and joy. He got that jokester trait from his own dad who loved him with all his soul & also left this earth too soon.

Outside of work and family, Brian’s passion was disc golf. He could often be found at a local frisbee golf course, always working to improve his game and enjoying the challenge of it. He even met several new friends through his love of frisbee golf and would often meet up with them. His competitive nature showed up even in the way he pushed himself to get better.

Brian is survived by his wife, Kristin; his children, Ashlyn, Isaac, Alyssa, and Lucas; and his mother, Marie Raynor. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Raynor, and is now beside his dad in Heaven.

Brian will be remembered for his loyalty, his humor, and the steady love he gave his family. He made sure the people closest to him knew they mattered, and that love will remain with them always.

He will be forever loved & deeply missed, but never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609, US, on August 14, 2026, beginning at 2:30 pm. Please wear casual clothes and consider wearing red as a tribute to Brian's love for NC State!

Brian's greatest joy was his four children and the future he dreamed for them. In lieu of flowers, a contribution toward their college funds would be a meaningful way to honor his memory and the love he had for his family.

Those wishing to contribute may make checks payable to Kristin Raynor. All contributions will be placed toward the children's college funds and needs.
