She is preceded in death by her husband, John D. Walton and three sisters, Nell Matthews Tipette, Annie James Matthews, and Myrtle Winnifred Matthews Slade.
She is survived by her sons, John D. Walton Jr. (Jamie), and Lloyd Matthews Walton (Teresa), grandchildren, Kate Ross of Asheville NC, Alice Cunningham (Jason) of Raleigh, and great grandchildren, Tyler Ross and Mary Kate Ross, Brown Cunningham, Sadie Cunningham, and Hardee Cuningham.
A graveside service will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park, at 11am, January 24, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Millbrook United Methodist Church, 1712 E. Millbrook Rd, Raleigh.
