Dino Francesco Longo
October 24, 1940 – July 17, 2021
Dino F. Longo, 80, of Raleigh transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, July 17th, 2021 at his home with his beloved family by his side.
Dino native to Italy, in a small town of Dominico Cosenza was born on October 24, 1940. He moved to Brooklyn, NY at the age of 26 where he met and fell in love with his bride, Millie of 55 years. Dino and Millie moved to North Carolina in 1990. His love of nature and trees made North Carolina a perfect place to continue to raise their four children, Louie, Marc, Eric and Dina. Dino loved to entertain, and easily made strangers and new friends feel like they were family. He was very creative, loved to draw and build. Anyone that knew Dino will have a favorite story he’d tell of the “Old Country”. His jokes, be it in Italian or English were always hilarious. He was the consummate entertainer. The past 10 years, Dementia has taken its toll, but Dino never lost his sense of humor, making anyone he met laugh. His signature greeting was “hey, baby” though he wasn’t well, he wanted to make others feel welcomed and comfortable.
Dino is survived by his loving wife, Millie Longo, his four children and their spouses, Louie Longo, wife Jennifer, Marc Longo, wife Kimberly, Eric Longo, wife Melissa, Dina Longo Wood, husband David. Dino’s heart was made full by his 11 grandchildren, Brady, Brett, Alicia, Madison, Ethan, Tyric, Dino, Hunter, Aiden, Tyler, and Katelynn.
In addition to his immediate family Dino leaves behind siblings, Ines Camelia, Mario Longo, and Venera Lattaruli. He is proceeded in death by his Father and Mother, Luigi, and Rosina Longo, Brother, Aldo Longo, and Sister, Olinda Ruffino.
A visitation will be held to receive family and friends on Wednesday July 21st at 11:00am -1:00pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral home in Raleigh on 1701 E. Millbrook Rd. Raleigh, NC 27609.
