Edith Maria Loewenthal Reid, 81, passed away on March 20, 2012 with her loving family by her side. It is very symbolic for her to leave our presence on this First Day of Spring, because it was her favorite time of year. She will always be remembered for her strong work ethic and ability to nurture those around her.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Stuart Reid, daughter, Marguerite Gross and husband, David, son, Andrew Reid, brother, Horst Loewenthal, grandchildren; Anna and Adam Gross. She is preceded in death by her son, Eric Reid, sisters; Ruth Genswein, Renate Graf.
Edith worked at Hudson Memorial Preschool in the 90’s, and she truly loved her work with children. She was fluent in several languages and was a member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church since 1974.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 at 12:30 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, Wake Forest, N.C.
