Edward served his country during World War II in the Navy Seabees during 1942 – 1946. Edward was a master plumber for 28 years of service with The New York Board of Education. Edward enjoyed woodworking and spent his weekends at the Raleigh Flea Market. He was lovingly called "Eddie, The Mayor on Aisle E."
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vera Joyce Dobbins; his children Diane Doyle, Roger Dobbins, Clifford Dobbins, and Amy Dobbins; his grandchildren Scott Doyle and Robyn Lugo; his great-grandchild Nicholas Doyle; and his sister Roberta Buono.
There will be a funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends before the service at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownwynne.com.
