Edward Owen Quarles

Edward Owen Quarles, 75, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Rex Hospital. Edward was the son of the late Preston and Nannie Quarles. He was predeceased in death by his wife, Julia Quarles. He is survived by his son, Michael E. Quarles and wife, Judith; grandson, Mikel; granddaughter, Leslie Smith; and his sister-in-law, Ellen Brooks and her husband, Harold, of Richmond, VA.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1977. He was an engineer at CP&L until retirement in 2000. He was also a member of the Lions Club, American Legion Post 297, where he was a past commander, and an active member of Crabtree Valley Baptist Church.

His family will receive friends Saturday, May 19, 2012, from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, with full military honors.
