

She lived a long and wonderful life and touched many people with kindness, positive attitude and love of life. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf and traveling. She was Chairman of The Northridge Country Club Women’s Golf Association in Raleigh and the Druid Hills Country Club in Atlanta.
She graduated from the Woman’s College of North Carolina in Greensboro and worked for the Federal Government during World War II. She later worked as personal assistant to Frank Daniels Sr., President of the Raleigh News & Observer.
She gave up her working career to take care of her son Fred and later her daughter Mitzi.
She is survived by her son Fred and his wife Marilyn of Clemmons, NC; granddaughter Jessica of Cary, NC. Other survivors are her brother William Stanley Pearce and his wife Morris and their daughter Sandra of Milwaukee, WI.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Joyner and their daughter Mitzi Elizabeth Joyner and brother David C. Pearce.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday April 26, 2011from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC. Her memorial service will be Wednesday April 27, 2011 at 2:00pm at the funeral home.
