Esther Rose passed away in her sleep after a spectacular 89 years of life. She was born in Newark, NJ in 1926 to Dora and Peter Stein. Her parents left Poland with her brother, Jack Stein, and her sister, Pauline Schultz, to offer them a better life in America.
Esther was a lady and treated everyone with her utmost respect and charm. She ran her family business, Caraleigh Furniture, alongside her husband, Leon for 58 years. Esther lived life to the fullest and treated her customers like family. She served wonderful foods at special occasions and those recipes have been passed on to her children and to her grandchildren.
Her sister, Pauline Schultz, was her very best friend and with Pauline’s husband, Norman, and Esther’s husband, Leon, you couldn’t find a tighter foursome.
Her whole life revolved around her family. Esther is survived by her sons, Paul (Tracy), Sandy (Wendy) and Marc (Amy) Rose. She doted on her 7 granddaughters and 3 great-grandsons.
Brown-Wynne Funeral Home is in charge. The graveside service will be held at the Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery this Wednesday September 30th at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beth Meyer Synagogue bethmeyer.org or Heartland Hospice Services of Raleigh www.heartlandhospice.com. Condolences may be sent to www.BrownWynneMillbrook.com.
