Evelyn Lichenstein

Evelyn M. Lichenstein, 89, of Raleigh, passed away Monday October 8, 2012. Born June 5, 1923 in Spring Valley, NY to the late John A. and Agnes M. Hayes. She has resided in Raleigh for over 38 years. She was a communicant of St. Raphael the Archangel Church in Raleigh. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed the finer things in life, such as traveling and shopping.

Surviving are: her husband, of 65 years, Stanley B. Lichenstein; two sons, Stan B. Lichenstein Jr. and wife, Karen of Dayton, OH, Bob Hayes and wife, Eva of Raleigh; three daughters, Avis Myers and husband, Mel of Akron, OH, Etch Blessing and husband, Jim of Raleigh, Susie Podratsky and husband, Allen of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Lance, Ali, Lauren, Shelly and Mikie; five great-grandchildren, Lawson, Calvin, Zoey, Charlie and Lake. She was preceded in death by her son, John D. Lichenstein.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd, Raleigh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:30 PM Friday at St. Raphael the Archangel Church, 5801 Falls of Neuse Rd., Raleigh.
