Faye Vann Buffaloe

Born on March 20, 1937, in Sampson County, Faye was the daughter of the late Charlie Henry Vann and Pauline Butler Vann. She graduated from Herring High School, where she was voted Best Dressed. She went on to attend East Carolina University and then moved to Raleigh. She later accepted a position with William A. Wilson Property Management, where she remained for the next 45 years.

Following her retirement, she spent many years entertaining family and friends at her country home, "Vann Roost." Faye had a passion for decorating and hosting, often joking that if she didn't have something, "it was on order." Family gatherings at the farm, especially Thanksgiving, were something she looked forward to all year long.

Everyone who met Faye complimented her sense of style and charm. She cherished the friendships she shared with her close group of girlfriends, some of whom had been friends for more than 60 years.

Faye’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Buffaloe Blackwell (Edward) of Wake Forest and Brenda Buffaloe Luthringer (Steve) of Raleigh; her partner of 42 years, Tom Kelley; and his daughter, Nicole Williams (Chris). She was "Nanny" to her grandchildren, Nicholas Blackwell (Meaghan) and Tyler Blackwell (Josalynn); her step grandchildren, Monica Luthringer (Luke) and Vanessa Luthringer (Phoebe); and Nicole's boys, Alex Williams, Drew Williams and Colin Williams. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Peyton Blackwell, Aliza Kay Blackwell, Brock Blackwell, Brylen Blackwell, and Erwin Luthringer. She was adored by her niece and nephews who also survive her. In addition, she considered Thomas Wilson, Grey Wilson (Kathy)and Lee Wilson to be part of her extended family.

Faye is predeceased by her two brothers, Charlie Dennis Vann, William Floyd Vann. Her two sisters, Louise Vann Warren and Irene Vann Tyndall
