Fernando "Fred" Cruz
December 16, 1962 – February 10, 2021
Fernando (Fred) Cruz passed away unexpectedly at the age of 58 on February 10th, 2021- with his devoted wife Nicole by his side. Fred was born on December 16, 1962 in New York City. He joined the Navy and was proud to serve his country for 10 years as an Electronic Warfare Technician. After returning to civilian life- he pursued a career specializing in fire and security systems. He had a passion for sound and loved to build speakers to play his music as loud as he was able. Anyone who met Fred can attest to the simple fact that he lived life to the fullest. It was that adventurous spirit which prompted his relocation to North Carolina at the age of 52, where he worked for the Department of Public Safety until his passing.
If there was one mark that Fred hoped to leave on this world it would be this: that everyone comes to know and accept Christ as their personal savior. A strict observer of the Sabbath, his love for God and Jesus was never a secret and he would happily share the Good News with anyone who would listen. It is this fact which brings us comfort- as it is written in Romans 10:13… “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” While he is no longer with us on earth, we will surely see him again when Jesus calls us home.
Fred is survived by his wife Nicole, his parents Fernando Cruz and Miriam Rodriguez, his older brother Albert (Ann) of Georgia, younger brother Angel (Lumarie) of New York and two children Nicole and John, as well as a host of aunt, uncles. cousins, nieces, and nephews.
