Floyd Bridgers Robbins

A visitation with family and friends will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Floyd was the son of the late Floyd Taft Robbins and Johnnie Bridgers Robbins. He was a 1948 graduate of Gardner High School in Wilson, and then served in the United States Navy. Floyd married Mary Gray Rodgers, in 1952 prior to enrolling in the Electrical Engineering program at North Carolina State University. He graduated from NC State in 1956 and began his career as an electrical engineer.

Floyd and Mary had three sons, Steven, David, and Mark. Mary predeceased him in 2002. In 2005 Floyd married Nancy Allen Fitzsimmons.

Floyd was a shrewd businessman and instrumental in growing Raleigh business, TMS Inc., where he worked until retirement. He was a lover of animals, particularly his dog Toto and cat Spunky. He enjoyed gardening and collecting unusual varieties of daylilies.

Floyd is survived by his wife Nancy, his sons David (wife Terri) and Mark (wife Beth), and grandchildren Katie Margaret and Thomas.
