Following graduation from NCSU, he pursued a career in the hotel and restaurant management business. His accomplishments provided him with the opportunity to work across several southeastern states.
Although he spent many years in this industry, his real passion was landscaping. He loved helping friends and family create a lush green garden or even a simple garden pot always making a statement.
He is survived by his mother, Gwen Bush; sister, Wanda Broome; niece, Carmen Burgess and nephew, Johnathan Broome.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Bobby Gill.
A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hock Family Pavilion Hospice Unit in Durham, NC.
