He was born on April 17, 1972 at Watts Hospital in Durham.
Surviving are his mother Sylvia McCall Blakely, his Father Benjamin Taylor Blakely both of Raleigh. A grandmother Louise McCall Alexander of Hillsborough, N.C., an aunt Barbara McCall Capps (Jimmy) of Chapel, NC. , an aunt Elaine Blakely Allison (Mike) of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandfather Clarence L. McCall of Hillsborough, N. C., his fraternal grandmother Frances Taylor Blakely and fraternal grandfather Samuel Benjamin Blakely of Efland, N. C.
Geoff spent most of his childhood years in Chapel Hill. He dearly loved playing along New Hope Creek in his backyard. After moving with his family to Raleigh in 1984, he attended Daniels Middle School and graduated Broughton High School in 1991. After high school he attended N.C. Wesleyn College, The Technical Institute of Alamance and the School of Communication Arts in Raleigh with an associate degree in Commercial Art and Advertising Design. He worked for a number of years for several advertising agencies, attaining a position of Creative Director. Geoff worked with his dad for the last decade at Blakely Design Group in Raleigh.
Geoff was very creative and a prolific inventor. He was always sketching new ideas.
A memorial service will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home at 1701 E. Millbrook Road in Raleigh on Thursday May 17th at 3:00 pm.
