

Jerry was born March 30, 1936 in Aurora, NC, the son of the late John Robert Hill and Mamie Toler Hill. He graduated Aurora High School in 1954 He soon joined the Air Force where he served in Korea building orphanages until 1956. On October 17, 1957 he married the love of his life, Kathryn Elaine Watson Hill, and out of this love and marriage three sons were born.
His work history has been long and varied. As an ordained minister, he served the church until finding his specific calling working for Housing and Urban Development where he bravely fought for the equality of the disenfranchised; he was a champion of equality for all his entire life.
He entered the private sector in 1983 where he established himself as a respected Mortgage Specialist eventually opening his own company with his wife, Elaine. He retired from The Money Center in 2007.
He enjoyed his family most of all, but loved salt water fishing, traveling, playing golf, church participation, volunteering and spending time with his wide circle of friends.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine, of 63 years, sons Kenneth Michael Hill-Wright and husband Butch Wright, James Eric Hill and lifetime partner, John Adams III, and Mark Edwin Hill-Stanley and husband Jeff Stanley, a cherished Grandson, Landy Hussong-Wright, precious fur child Jillie, grand dogs and grand-cats, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, all 8 siblings, and a loving devoted fur child Ginger.
Due to Covid restrictions there will be no public visitation or service at this time. A public memorial service will be planned at Millbrook Baptist church in Raleigh at a later time
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity in Raleigh in his memory.
