Glenn McNulty Barefoot, 82, died peacefully at home in Raleigh, NC on August 8, 2026 surrounded by family. Her super powers were loving others unconditionally and finding humor in every situation. The world will be less fun without her.
Glenn’s joie de vivre made everything an adventure. Just getting lost on a road trip became a dramatic escapade when you were with her.
Glenn (née Louise Glenn McNulty) was born on August 6, 1944 in Atlanta, GA to Charles See McNulty, Jr. and Louise Glenn McNulty (née Clara Louise Glenn) of Roanoke, Virginia.
Glenn graduated from Mary Washington College and received her master’s degree from Virginia Tech. A lifelong educator, she taught English and Spanish at several colleges over the course of her career. Later, she was a co-owner of Barefoots & Jackson Furniture in downtown Wilmington, NC.
Abram Barefoot of Wilmington, NC met Glenn while visiting a friend in Asheboro and they married on January 10, 1982. They celebrated their anniversary every day.
