Harold Dean Sauls Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean Jenkins Sauls; daughters Terry Spell of Wendell and Arliss Wise and husband Harold of Greenville, and son Dean Sauls and wife Tricia of Raleigh, 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Sarah Jeffrey of Raleigh and brother Sears Sauls of Charleston. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Hazel Holland of Fuquay Varina, NC.

Harold was born in Wake County to Oxie Dean Sauls and Macie Irene Sauls, founders of Sauls Barbeque in Garner, NC. He graduated from Garner High School in 1955. He married Jean, his high school sweetheart, in 1956. Harold worked for Sears Contract Sales for more than 50 years as one of their top salesmen.

A funeral is scheduled for 2:00pm, Friday, July 29 at Brown Wynne, 1701 E Millbrook Rd. in Raleigh, with visitation to follow. Chaplin Bill Coley will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Harold’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Brown Wynne.
